The series is a popular science feast that science enthusiasts should never miss. Senior scientists and engineers will interpret cutting-edge scientific and engineering research in an easy-to-understand way.

The Centre for Advanced Photonics and Electronics (CAPE) was established in 2004, as a way in which the University could address global issues involving open innovation in partnership with companies of international importance. It is a unique partnership between the University of Cambridge and international companies who are in a non-competitive supply-chain or value-chain relationship with respect to each other. Founded upon the University’s world-leading facilities and expertise in electronics and photonics, CAPE is housed within the University’s Electrical Engineering Division although its activities involve many academic researchers beyond Cambridge University Engineering Department. CAPE's research areas cover AI, Batteries, Big Data, Energy, Healthcare, Graphene, and Sensors etc. Daping Chu, Tenured Professor of Cambridge University and Academic Director of CUNJC, serves as its director.
Technology comes from science, science comes from innovation, and innovation comes from open communication. The CAPE Advanced Technology Lectures will soon be launched on the media platform of CUNJC.
CAPE, as a bridge connecting scientific research and industry, has long organised university scholars, industrial partners and outstanding researchers from industries to share cutting-edge research. The invited speakers include experts and scholars from well-known universities and research institutions such as Cambridge University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, European Microelectronics Center, etc., as well as executives and R&D personnel of large multinational companies such as Jaguar Land Rover, GlaxoSmithKline, Sony, and Samsung, to discuss topics ranging from artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, semiconductor sensors, head-up displays, optoelectronic display technology, flexible electronic displays, electric power conversion, 3D printing and biomanufacturing, to nanomaterials.
Guided by applied research and authorised by CAPE, CUNJC will share CAPE's wonderful academic lectures with Chinese audience, stay tuned!
