Researcher

One researcher position is available in DropBioApp group at the Cambridge University - Nanjing Center of Technology and Innovation. The DropBioApp project aims to build a microfluidic platform beneficial for both academic researchers and industries undergoing biotechnology applications, mainly focused on biomaterials development and cell biology research.

Headed by Prof. Tuomas Knowles at the University of Cambridge, the researcher will:
1. Work closely with the PI to develop microfluidics and bioappplications;
2. Participate in the whole process from the formulation of the preliminary microfluidic chip preparation plan, feasibility demonstration, project establishment, research and development to patent achievement application;
3. Communicate the progress in scientific & project reports, at scientific conferences, and in peer-reviewed journal publications.
4. Responsible for the summaries of the relevant documents in the field of microfluidic technology, the collection of data, the proposal of project proposals, and the establishment and declaration of projects.

Job Requirement
1. Have a PhD degree in polymer science and engineering or biomedical engineering or equivalent academic qualifications.
2. The candidates may have knowledge of biology, cell culture experience.
3. Good English/Mandarin written and oral communication skills to ensure effective communication with biological personnel, with the ability to provide training to non-experts, and to effectively communicate in formal speeches and group meetings.
4. Have a research background in biomaterials and microfluidics.
5. Ability to work independently as well as to collaborate in a team environment.

CUNJC is granted as Jiangsu Provincial Post-doctoral Innovation Practice Base and qualified to recruit and cultivate post-doctoral candidates in cooperation with the post-doctoral mobile stations. If the finally recruited personnel meets the entry requirements, he/she can apply to be a full-time postdoc.
